Bill Bradley is an American retired professional basketball player and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a U.S. Senator from New Jersey, from January 3, 1979 to January 3, 1997.

He was a candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 2000.

Bill is the son of Susie (Crowe) and Warren Bradley. He has a daughter with his former wife, German-born professor Ernestine Misslbeck Schlant.
