Demi Lovato has joined the soundtrack lineup for The Angry Birds Movie!
Based off the characters in the popular mobile game, the movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
The “Confident” singer took to Twitter with the exciting news about her involvement. She tweeted, “Excited to announce I’m singing a song for #AngryBirdsMovie! Can’t wait for u to hear it and see the movie in May.”
This is obviously a PG rated movie, so the song will probably be more family-friendly with a dance vibe. We are certain that Lovato can pull this off and bring us a hit!
Last Friday (April 2), Producer John Cohen announced that Charli XCX will be the voice of the bird named Willow. In December, it was revealed that country singer Blake Shelton will sing and voice a pig in the film.
Additional cast members include Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, Tituss Burgess, Bill Hader, and Peter Dinklage.
The Angry Birds Movie hits theaters on May 20.
