Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, best known by her stage name Beabadoobee, is an acclaimed British-Filipino musician. Earning her prominence in the indie pop and bedroom pop genres, Beabadoobee has captured the hearts of listeners with her distinctively raw and introspective sound, which melds ’90s indie rock influences with modern pop sensibilities.

Launching her career in 2017, Beabadoobee quickly turned heads with her debut EP, “Lice”. However, it was her second EP, “Patched Up” which really started turning the gears in the industry. Her 2019 single “She Plays Bass” became a notable hit, but it was “Coffee”, a song that initially started as a viral sensation on the social media platform TikTok, that catapulted her into global recognition. It was subsequently sampled by Canadian artist Powfu in his hit single “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head)”, bringing her sound to a wider audience. In 2020, she released her debut studio album, “Fake It Flowers.”

Beabadoobee’s journey has been marked by significant collaborations, ranging from fellow musicians to iconic music producers. In 2018, she collaborated with The 1975’s Matt Healy and George Daniel, who produced her second EP, “Patched Up”. Subsequent collaborations included work with influential producers Peter Katis and Joseph Rodgers on her debut album, which yielded the standout track, “Care”. Additionally, her music has received extensive support from music industry figures like Elton John and Billie Eilish, and she has toured with indie pop bands such as Clairo and No Rome.

Over the course of her career, Beabadoobee has also received numerous industry recognitions, notably for her songwriting and performance abilities. In 2020, she was nominated for the BRIT Awards in the Rising Star category, marking a key milestone in her career. Additionally, her debut studio album, “Fake It Flowers”, garnered substantial critical acclaim and was included in NME’s 50 Best Albums of 2020. She also earned a nomination for an Ivor Novello Award, one of the highest honors for British and Irish songwriters and composers, for her song “Last Day on Earth” in 2023.
